“Poise (The Grace of Beauty)” ,2026. Acrylic, India Ink, Acrylics, and other binding material on tiled and mirrored metal frame. — 30” around. When I lived in Maryland I canoed and kayaked a lot around the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. The most striking animal throughout my explorations there was the Blue Heron. This is my romanticized representation of its intangible beauty. The most well designed animal of them all to my eyes. Perfect in every way. Nature at its best. (Also excuse my shaky video. I’ve never been able to take a slow and steady video, even if my life depended on it.). I’ll be hanging it at the Lyric sometime today before the @steadmanart documentary screening! Come by and see it in person at @thelyriccinema. There’s not only my art but an endless amount of other artists in there.

“The Poet” - 2026. I had the most amount of fun making this painting. It is based on the collective painting made by all the people that came to my last art show and it truly was a joy to make. @jungle4eva ‘s new album just came out and I thought I’d celebrate it with this painting.

“Mountains of my Mind” - 2026. I found this plate in a thrift shop a little while ago and I had to make something with it. It’s Italian and shaped like a peach (at least to me..). Painting landscapes has been something I have loved exploring in the past two years and most of them have had no reference. This is a pursuit to eventually paint the recurring landscapes in my dreams. Extracting sights from dreams is something, but to extract exact perspectives and hold that perspective in mind throughout the process has proven to be a challenging task. Tickles the right parts of the brain though.

“The Artist” - 2026. I’ve been playing around with a David Choe inspired idea of painting on printed figures while incorporating what’s already there. It is so fun and trying to work with hair-fine nibs to get the details in there has been super rewarding.

“Pond Painting (Spring)” - After my last exhibition, I took a little bit of time to figure out my path forward. I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting and starting the new directions for the future. But after a while, I needed to paint in some familiar scenery. I did arrive at this style by just trying to make something beautiful, not much other thought in mind other than the limitation of it being ultimately improvisational. So it felt good.——— There are very exciting things ahead that are going to be shared any day now. ——— I’m so happy that it is getting warmer out and the plants are blooming again.

On this one a peach tree, representing the best peaches I have ever had - The Palisade peaches. These plates are only going to be available for purchase at the exhibition.
